Support Catholic Schools

Help us stand with parents and their rights to send their children to the schools of their choice.

Catholic schools have long served students from all backgrounds, including millions of children from lower-income families.

Catholic education is a legacy of the faith.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that “Parents have the right to choose a school for them which corresponds to their own convictions. This right is fundamental,” and “public authorities have the duty of guaranteeing this parental right and of ensuring concrete conditions for its exercise.”

But there is a problem. Many families cannot afford Catholic education for their children. Many schools struggle to keep operating, relying on the generosity of parishes and donors. But it’s not enough.

Many schools are closing or will soon close. The old model – where parents shoulder the burden and schools take on the losses – is not sustainable.

There is a solution.

Robust school choice programs in some states helped Catholic schools rebound quickly after pandemic-induced enrollment losses. Because of school choice, families can send their children to the schools that work for them even in hard times, and schools can continue to serve students and communities.

Parents choose Catholic education for many reasons. A quality education can help children learn in a fulfilling environment. It recognizes their God-given dignity and can help them go on to achieve great things.

School choice programs help ensure Catholic schools can serve our communities for years to come.
